Once you successfully completed installing WordPress to your Domain, next step is customization of the website with various menu tools in the back-end  of WordPress dashboard area.

WordPress Dashboard Area:

We can login the WordPress customization administrative area or back end of your website using the username and password you created while installing the WordPress.

URL to login WordPress Dashboard area:

http://yourdomainname.ext/wp-admin

For Example:

http://everestvision.com/wp-admin

Once you logged in, you are on dashboard area or back-end of your website to edit, customize, enhance, design and manage your website.

 

WordPress Customization Dashboard Area

 

On the left hand side of the WordPress Customization dashboard screen we find a various menu items to perform administrative functions.

Some of the main various menu items are as follows:

  • Dashboard

Dashboard

Home:

It’s a section, where we can see the recent activity at your site

Update:

We can update new version of WordPress, Plugins and Themes.

 

 

  • Posts

Posts

Add New:

It’s a tool to add New Post.

All Posts:

We can view, edit or delete the previously posted post.

Categorize:

Categorizing the posts into groups and sub groups

Tags:

Assigning keywords to each post.

It allows us to add, change and delete tags.

 

 

  • Media

Media Menu

Library:

In this section we can view, edit or delete the previously uploaded Media items such as Images, Audio, Video and much more.

Add New:

It is a menu where you can add all Media items.

 

 

  • Pages

Pages Menu

Add New:

In this tool we can add new pages.

All Pages:

We can view, edit or delete previously created pages.

 

 

  • Comments

Comments Menu

It’s a feedback or thoughts section from the readers regarding the posts.

 

 

  • Appearance

Themes Menu

This is the tool where we can change the look of your website.

We will look into some of the main tools

Themes:

It is a tool to add or change the themes

Customize:

It is a place where you can customize Theme Settings, Page Template Setting, Site Identify, Themes Design, Menus, Home Page Settings, etc.

Widgets:

This tool is to add, edit or delete information at predefined areas such as footer, sidebar or header.

Menus:

With this tools we can able to create and edit Menu Structure of Pages, Posts, Testimonials, Custom Links, Categories, etc.,

Home Page:

It is a section where we can customize the Home page.

Plugin Menu

It is a place where we can install, activate, update, delete or deactivate the features to your website.

 

 

  • Users

Users Menu

In this section we can able to manage the accounts of your website users.
