Keyword Research:
Keyword Research is one of the most important factor to bring a right kind of Customers.
By doing keyword research process we will come to know the user search terms in search engine on that specific topic, so that we can implement those researched keywords while doing SEO of the website to achieve a better rankings on search engine.
Whenever customer wants to buy something:
- First, buyer will try to search for information on that product.

- Navigational Query
- Transactional Query
Informational Query:
The user searches the query in search engine to get knowledge or information or data about a particular topic or services.
For Example: User searched for the query “Iphone”
so the above is a informational query.
Even query can be of two types:
- Generic Query:It is a short tail keyword and in this we can’t define, what exactly user is looking for.
Example: Suppose user searched for the query “Movie” in search engine.
In the above query we don’t know which movie user is looking for, so it is a generic keyword.
- Specific query: In this we can predict exact purpose of the user is looking for.
Example: User searched for the query “Batman Movie Actor”
In this we can tell the user is looking for actor of the movie batman, so it is a specific keyword.
Navigational Query:
Query of the user is to get data from specific sites about topics or services.
Example: Query of the user is “Iphone in Amazon“.
In this user is looking for information from Amazon website, so it is a informational and navigational query as user looking information in specific website.
Transactional Query:
Query of the user intention is to find a product or service to buy or get services.
Example: User Query is “Buy Iphone in Amazon”
In this query the user is searching for apple phone to buy, so it is a Informational,Navigational and Transactional Query.
Types of Keywords:
Depending on the length of the keywords we derive the below options:
- Short tail
- Medium tail
- Long tail
Short Tail Keyword:
Short tail keyword are short, which are in the range of 1 or 2 words, basically they are broad and generic keywords.
For Example: Digital Marketing
So you can see the above query is non specific keyword and it is very difficult to target, as competition level is high.
Medium Tail Keyword:
Keywords which are in the range of 3 to 4 words, basically they are specific keywords.
Example: Digital Marketing Course
See in this above query, it is specific keywords and slightly descriptive search term. So the Competition level is medium and easy to target as the search volume is medium.
Long Tail Keyword:
Keywords which are in the range of more than 4 words. It is basically more specific keywords.
Example: Best Digital Marketing Course in California.
So in the above query it is more descriptive search term and it is very easy to target as competition level and search volume is less.
Long tail Keyword has high conversion rate as it will be more specific queries.
